Arvind Kejriwal,Delhi Chief Minister: a day after he warned radio-taxi services in Delhi across surge pricing amid the implementation of the second phase of odd-even policy, 18 Ola and Uber cabs were impounded for overcharging.
Ola and Uber had cancelled surge pricing after Delhi Chief Minister Kejriwal warned of strict action across taxis which charge more than the government prescribed prices.
Uber statement said, “Given the threat to the livelihood of our partners, at the expense of reliability, we are temporarily suspending surge with immediate effect,”
After Uber, Ola too had suspended surge pricing in the national capital. However, Gopal Rai,the Delhi Transport Minister, made an appeal to the commuters to register complaints against taxi-services charging high fares.
