India's 19-year-old weightlifter Jeremy Lalrinnunga could not do his best, but his attempt to weigh 305 (141+164 kg) in the 67 weight class was enough to win gold at the Commonwealth Championships. The event has also won the qualifying event for the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.
According to media reports, 2018 Youth Olympic gold medallist Jeremy's best performance is to lift 306 (140+166 kg) weight which he did in 2019. Mizoram's Jeremy set a national record in snatch amid his golden campaign but failed to do so in clean and jerk.
He finished fourth in the snatch and 7th overall. Jeremy suffered a knee injury between the Asian Championships in April. In May, he finished fourth at the Junior World Championships and failed to qualify for the Tokyo Olympics.
