December 16 is an important day for India as well as its neighbor Pakistan and Bangladesh. While this day is an opportunity for India and Bangladesh to proudly raise their heads, it is embarrassing for Pakistan. India forced Pakistan to kneel in 1971. As a result, a separate country called Bangladesh came into existence, which was then called East Pakistan.

India celebrates this victory as Vijay Diwas. 50 years ago, on this day, Pakistan was divided into two pieces. Their army had surrendered to the Indian Army. This surrender is also considered to be the surrender of the largest army since World War II. The war between the two countries started with the pride of Pakistan, due to which it attacked 11 airbases of India. This was perhaps the first time that the three armies of India fought together. India responded immediately to the actions of the Pakistani army in the West and captured an area of about 15,010 kilometers of Pakistan. The war ended after General Amir Abdullah Khan, the then president of the Pakistani army, surrendered to the Indian Army and the Joint Army of the Liberation Corps of Bangladesh, along with 93,000 soldiers of Niazi. General AK Niazi signed the surrender document in Dhaka on December 16, 1971, leading to the emergence of Bangladesh as a new country in East Pakistan. With the birth of Bangladesh, Pakistan also lost half of its territory.

This war lasted only 13 days and is counted among the smallest wars in history. But the result continues to make Pakistan feel embarrassed even today. The war between India and Pakistan lasted from December 3, 1971, to December 16, 1971. The Indian Army brought the Pakistani army to its knees and captured 93,000 of its soldiers and gave freedom to 75 million people in Bangladesh. In a war to end the massacre of the Bengali population of East Pakistan, which is being carried out 15,010 kilometers, 3,000 Indian soldiers attained valor. 8,000 Pakistani soldiers lost their lives.

But this day also has a painful history associated with it, which continues to hurt the heart even today.  That is, in this war, India's army arrested 93,000 Pakistani soldiers and civilians, while 54 Indian soldiers were captured by PAK. After Pakistan surrendered, the Government of India released 93 Pakistanis but did not withdraw 54 of its heroes, these jawans are still either in jail there or have been martyred by suffering torture.  These 54 soldiers are still called Missing 54 in the country. Greetings and tributes to all Indian soldiers who sacrificed their lives in the 1971 war and 54 brave soldiers arrested by Pak. Jai Hind Jai Bharat.
