Sirsa: In a shocking incident, two children were killed by drowning in a diggy on Tuesday in town Ellenabad of the district. In the wake of the heat, 5 children from families living in slums nearby had rushed to bathe in Diggi. Suddenly, 2 of them sank, watching the rest of the three fled away. After the address, the crowd of people gathered at the scene.

According to the sources, the divers pulled the two after a stern effort, but by then the two had stopped breathing. Many families have been living in the slum for the past nearly 10 years in Ellenabad's Dhani Sherwali. On Tuesday morning, five children from these families went to bathe in the diggi of the Jalghar at Nohar Road. Two children drowned while three others fled home from the spot watching them drowning.

The children told their families, the nearby people converged on the spot. Administrative authorities were briefed on the same, after which the fire brigade also reached the spot, the divers were also called. After a long time, the bodies of the two children were extracted from the Dagi of the Jalghar. The two have been identified as Raman son butter and Lakki Putra Turquoise. The bodies of the children have been shifted to a state hospital for postmortem.
