2 Men accused of the Jharkhand Rape-case arrested

Recently, on Tuesday, there was news that six men abducted five women who were performing a street play in Jharkhand and gang-raped them. According to the latest reports, the six men have been identified. A senior state police officer informed about the same on Saturday. Out of the 6 accused, 2 have been arrested and also, they have confessed to their disgusting deed in front of a magistrate. Senior police officer RK Mallick also informed about the little details on how the women were tortured.

The group of these 6 men had kidnapped a group of 11 ladies including the five women, who were in Khunti, which is tribal district and is about 100 km from state capital Ranchi to perform plays for an awareness campaign in a school. These men then drove them into a dense forest which was about 30 minutes away and gang-raped the women who belonged to an age group between 20 and 35.

They continued to torture the women even after they were done with them

The women were exploited using the branch of a tree, a pistol and tobacco.

The men did not stop. According to reports, They raped the women for about 4 hours, after which they even forced the women to drink their urine 

Mallick stated regarding the inhuman act, "This was not a crime of passion. It was a conspiracy to teach them a lesson".


The 11 women worked for 'Asha Kiran', which is an NGO supported by a local Christian missionary group, and had visited the place to perform for the students of RC Mission School.

Sources revealed that when the victim women returned to the school, Father Alfonso asked them not to file any complaint, rather move on from what happened.
A complaint has also been filed against the priest for suppressing a crime and has also been arrested.
