JAMMU: A group of heavily-armed unknown militants attacked a police guard post in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir due to which the death of two policemen in the wee hours of Tuesday reported.

“The incident took place at around 3 in the morning. 2 of our officers have lost their lives & one is critically injured. Terrorists are being identified & they'll be nabbed soon”, Mohd Aslam Chowdhary, SSP Pulwama on terrorist attack in Pulwama, earlier today.

Apart from this three other policemen reportedly sustained serious injuries in the heavy exchange of fire from both sides.

“Terrorists opened fired on a police guard post, deployed at District court complex in Pulwama earlier today. Two police personnel lost their lives while three sustained injuries in the exchange of fire “, ANI tweeted.

The police personnel deployed to hit back to the attack and a heavy exchange of fire took between both sides. However, the terrorists managed to run away from the spot.

According to the primary reports, the policemen were deployed at a court complex in Pulwama in South Kashmir.

The whole area has been cordoned off and a huge search operation is also underway to rip off the attackers.

 Meanwhile A related incident also reported in which 10 CRPF jawans sustained minor injuries after they were attacked by some terrorists with grenades in Sadar in the Anantnag district around 3 am today.

“Anantnag: 10 CRPF jawans sustained minor injuries after they were attacked by terrorists with grenades in Sadar at around 3 am today, admitted to hospital. More details awaited “, ANI tweeted.

It is noted that Pakistan-supported terrorist group Jaish-e-Mohammed's (JeM) is suspected behind the two attacks in the past 12 hours in J&K.

According to Zee News the security forces are on high alert and patrolling and surveillance has been stepped up in sensitive areas.
