2 Killed In Assam Grenade Blast, Amit Shah to contact Chief Minister soon

Guwahati: A grenade blast took place in oil township at Digboi in Tinsukia district on Friday. The death toll in the blast has risen to two. Another injured person succumbed to his injuries in the hospital. Union Home Minister Amit Shah has held talks with newly elected Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma over the incident.

CM Himanta Biswa Sarma confirmed that home minister Amit Shah had called him after the grenade blast at Tingrai Bazara in Tinsukia district. Shah has expressed condolences to the families of the two people killed in the attack. I have informed the Home Minister about the matter and said that assam police has been directed to take swift action against the accused who carried out the attack and arrest them at the earliest. However, it is not yet clear who is the conspirator behind the blast.

Himanta Biswa Sarma has condemned the attack and directed the state DGP to take strict action against the perpetrators of the incident at the earliest. Himanta Biswa Sarma was sworn in as the new CM of Assam on Monday (May 10). The Bharatiya Janata Party, which came to power for the second time in a row, has changed its CM this time and replaced Sarbananda Sonowal with Himanta Biswa Sarma.
