Aizawl: In Mizoram, the number of infected with Covid-19 has increased to 74,068 on Wednesday. In a statement issued by the State Information and Public Relations Department, it has been said that during the last 24 hours, 1,185 new cases were registered in the state, which is 317 less than the previous day. and reported 2 deaths, taking the death toll to 246. The woman, aged 75, succumbed to the infection while being taken to Zoram Medical College (ZMC).

The one-day positivity rate came down to 12.65 per cent from 16.39 per cent in the previous days, as 1,185 fresh cases were detected from 9,368 sample tests in Mizoram. In which 240 children, five Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel and a healthcare frontline worker were among the newly infected. Aizawl district of Mizoram reported the maximum number of 620 cases, followed by Lunglei district with 116 and Kolasib district with 92, the statement said.

Mizoram now has 13,525 active Covid-19 cases, while 60,297 people have recovered from the infection, including 1,024 as of Tuesday. The recovery rate in Covid-19 patients is 81.40 percent and the mortality rate is 0.33 percent. The state has conducted more than 9.83 lakh sample tests so far. According to State Immunization Officer Dr. Laljavmi, more than 6.65 lakh people have been vaccinated till Tuesday, out of which 3.21 lakh people have received the full dose.
