Coimbatore: Twenty-five-year-old VS Narayana Sarma and 27-year-old D Ranjith, two from Coimbatore, made the city proud in the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) Civil Services Examination 2020 results declared on Friday, September 24. Twenty five year old VS Narayan Sarma who secured 33rd All India Rank (AIR). He cleared the exam in his third attempt and was the topper from Tamil Nadu, while 27-year-old D Ranjith, who has hearing and speech impairment, cleared the exam in his first attempt and secured 750th rank.

Sarma, a resident of Kanuvai in Coimbatore district, had completed his studies in electronics and communication engineering from Amrita University. According to a report, Sarma says that preparing for the exam was the most challenging part after failing the first two times. Sarma opted for the Public Administration paper as an optional subject in his third UPSC attempt. D Ranjith from Coimbatore also managed to clear UPSC exam in his first attempt with the help of his mother and her dedication. Ranjeet secured 750 rank and chose Tamil literature as optional paper.

Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2020, a total of 761 candidates have passed in this Civil Services Examination. Let us inform that the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination 2020 was conducted on October 4, 2020. 10,40,060 candidates had applied for this exam, out of which 4,82,770 candidates actually appeared in the exam. The candidates who had applied can check their results by visiting the official website of UPSC at www.upsc.gov.in.
