Dehradun: Congressmen marched to Raj Bhavan to protest against rahul gandhi being summoned for questioning by the enforcement directorate. The protesters were stopped by the police by putting up barricades near Hathibadkala. Thereafter, there was a lot of commotion and jostling between the police and the protesters. Police arrested 200 Congress workers, including the protesting state president Karan Mahra. Several activists, including MLA Anupama Rawat, lay down on the ground due to this. Which the police barely picked up and put them in the car. After being taken to the police line, he was released on a personal bond.  

Congressmen protested by burning an effigy of the central government alleging that congress leader Rahul Gandhi was tortured in the name of investigation by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and lathicharge on Congress workers and sealing of AICC headquarters, Delhi.  

The speakers said that the Modi government has come down on Hitlerism. There is a conspiracy to destroy democracy. Congressmen shouted slogans against the government in large numbers including state president Karan Mehra, Khatima Vidyak Bhuvan Kapri, Suryakant Dhasmana, Dinesh Agarwal, Garima Dasoni, Lal Chand Sharma. The Congressmen raised slogans against the central government and said that the central government is misusing the government agencies. The government is harassing Rahul Gandhi on the pretext of ED's statements to suppress the voice of the opposition. Which is condemnable. City president Mahant Vinay Saraswat said, congressmen will gherao raj bhavan in Dehradun on Thursday to protest against this.
