New Delhi: Around 200 crows died so far in the Central Park of Mayur Vihar Phase-3 in the national capital, amid the threat of 'bird flu' in the country. The park is currently running a sanitation campaign and has been closed to the general public. Yesterday, the bodies of five crows were sent to Jalandhar by the authorities for investigation.

Tinku Chaudhary, caretaker of Central Park in Mayur Vihar, said that 150-200 crows died in the last 1 week. We are not allowing anyone to come to the park. Even today 15-16 crows are killed. Samples of dead crows have been sent for examination. According to the statement issued by the government on Thursday, the matter was brought to light and on the instructions of Deputy CM Manish Sisodia, the Quick Response Team was sent to Central Park of Mayur Vihar Phase III. The statement said 17 crows were found dead in the park and four samples were collected. The remaining dead birds were buried in the ground. Two crows were found dead at DDA Park, Dwarka and a sample was collected from there.

Earlier, an animal husbandry department official said that we have received information about the deaths of crows from Dwarka and Mayur Vihar Phase-III and Hastasal village in west Delhi, but it has not yet been confirmed whether these deaths were caused by the bird. Flu infection has occurred.
