According to the information received, a basement was found here on Saturday under the land being dug for plantation in Basanpir South village, 20 kilometres from Jaisalmer. A crowd of villagers reportedly thronged to see the house-like basement. Most of the basement here is said to be buried far below the ground. Some of the villagers were going in here for the sake of treasure, although no one dared to move forward for fear of being a snake.

Now, regarding this basement, villagers said, 'There used to be a village of Paliwals 200 years ago, which they left. The administration has not made any security arrangements here so far.' On the other hand, the village ANM Pramila Jangid team said, "There may be a huge house under the ground, which also has stairs. People do not go in much fear of having snakes or other animals inside.'' Yes, people hope that there can be a treasure. On the other hand, Kanta Devi, a resident of the village, said, "Earlier also the villagers had tried to extract gold here. It is said that there is a snake's shelter or spirits on the treasure, so no one can muster up the courage.''

She also said, "Now that this basement has appeared, the villagers will definitely coming here again and again.'' Let me tell you that Mukesh Meena, in charge of encroachments in Jaisalmer, said, "We do the work of conservation of protected buildings. No one encroaches on the protected buildings and takes care that they should not be damaged.''
