The terrorists first encountered Kamlesh, a member of the 88 CRPF battalion, during the attack on the Parliament House called the Temple of India. He had only one wireless set in his hand. After 11 shots of the terrorists, neither the wireless set was left nor did the tongue stop from his hand. He first reported the attack to the control. Kamlesh was posthumously awarded the Ashoka Chakra.

For your information, let us tell you that on 13 February 2001, at 11:40 AM, Kamlesh Kumari was posted at the screener of Gate No. 12 of Parliament House Complex. He saw that from Vijay Chowk, a car with stickers of the Ministry of Home Affairs and Parliament House was coming towards Gate No. 12. As the car approached, four terrorists came out of it. She ran to close the gate. However, during this time she was also giving information to the control room on the wireless set. After reaching his picket again, Kamlesh warned the nearby soldiers.

During this act, then only his eyes fell on the human bomb. As soon as he gave this information to the control room, at the same time many terrorists were coming towards him from gate number 11. She exited the picket with a wireless set in her hand. At the same time, the terrorists continuously fired at him. On his information, the CRPF, considering the whole sequence of events, heaped the terrorists.
