New Delhi: Looking to make stronger the left front and giving tough opposition to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ahead of the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is programmed to meet senior BJP leaders, Yashwant Sinha and Shatrughan Sinha, along with Arun Shourie, in New Delhi on Wednesday.

It is also expected that she would meet Delhi CM Arvind Kejarival.

This move comes a day after CM  Banerjee met various opposition leaders, including National Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar, to discuss prospects of forming a third front, as ANI reported.

"Yes, Sonia (Gandhi) ji is unwell right now and recovering, will meet her once she is fine. Tomorrow will meet Shatrughan Sinha ji, Yashwant Sinha ji, and Arun Shourie ji," Banerjee said, as quoted by ANI.

All three leaders in the past have been spoken about their disapproval of Narendra Modi-led-government policies.

“Lok Sabha election 2019 will be very interesting,” said Mamata Banerjee after holding talks with Opposition leaders on the third front.

The Trinamool Congress Supremo, who is on a four-day political-tour to Delhi, also expressed her keenness to meet BSP chief Mayawati and Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav in Lucknow, if they invite her.

"Will certainly go meet if they (Mayawati-Akhilesh Yadav) call us for a meeting to Lucknow," Bengal CM told reporters.
