Mokshada Ekadashi is being celebrated on Sunday, 8 December 2019. Ekadashi, which comes on the Shukla Paksha in Margashirsha month, frees a person from the bondage of birth and death. A person observing this fast enjoys happiness throughout his life and definitely attains salvation in his time. Shrimad Bhagavad Gita was born from the mouth of Lord Shri Krishna on the day of Margashirsha i.e. the salvation of Aghaan month i.e. Mokshada Ekadashi, hence Gita Jayanti is also celebrated on this day.

*How to do fasting on Mokshada Ekadashi

* On the day of Margashirsha Shukla Ekadashi i.e. Mokshada Ekadashi, in the morning, after retirement, remember Lord Krishna and sprinkle holy water throughout the house and cleanse your house and surroundings.

* Then prepare the pooja material.

* Place basil manjari (with leaves on the basil plant), aromatic substances especially in the worship material.

* Put an idol or picture of Ganesha, Shri Krishna and Ved Vyas Ji in front. Also keep a copy of Gita.

* It is of special importance to offer basil leaves to Lord Shri Ganesh in worship on this day.

* Listen to the fast story of Ekadashi by reciting poojas, and distribute prasad after doing aarti.

* Since on this day Shri Krishna preached Arjuna in the battlefield. Therefore, keeping fast on this day, reciting the Gita at night or listening to the Gita discourse is also very important to awaken.

On this day, Lord Krishna and Shri Hari Vishnu should be worshiped and due to being the Gita Jayanti, one must read the Gita.
