Juxtaposing the auto traditions with modern aspirations, Tata Motors had announced a while back that the Altroz would be updated with something new and now as 13th January has arrived, the manufacturer has kept its promise by unveiling the iTurbo variant.  Yes, the much-awaited Tata Altroz iTurbo petrol has finally been unveiled in India.  Indians have been eagerly waiting for it ever since the Altroz was launched back in 2019.

The Altroz iTurbo will retail alongside the standard naturally-aspirated petrol and diesel variants and will be the fastest Tata hatchback yet. Not to overwhelm the market with high pricing, Tata Motors will be launching the Altroz iTurbo with a manual transmission, to begin with. The car also boasts new features like Xpress Cooling and ‘Hinglish’ voice commands. Keep scrolling for more details.

Just to give you an idea, this powertrain belts out 28 per cent more power and 24 per cent more torque than the naturally aspirated petrol motor and is paired to a five-speed manual gearbox as standard. For those who are wondering, the 'i' in iTurbo stands for 'intelligent'. Tata claims that the Altroz iTurbo does the 0-100 kmph sprint in 11.9 seconds. Tata claims fuel efficiency of 18.13 kmpl on the iTurbo, in accordance with the MIDC cycle.
