Volkswagen India stated on Thursday on its social media platforms that the 2021 Tiguan facelift would be launched in the domestic market on December 7. This facelifted five-seater SUV is part of the company's brand India 2.0 strategy, and it will be one of four SUVs the company plans to launch in India.

In 2020, the updated Tiguan had its global premiere. The SUV is already available in Indian dealerships. The facelifted version of the luxury SUV will battle with rivals like the Jeep Compass, Hyundai Tucson, and Citroen C5 AirCross when it arrives.
The German automaker earlier revealed that it will also bring three more vehicles to India, including the all-new Taigun, revised versions of the T-Roc, and the Tiguan AllSpace 7-seater SUV.

Volkswagen intends to domestically construct the mid-size luxury SUV in India, much as it did with the pre-facelift Tiguan, in order to maintain its cost comparable with rivals. In terms of design changes, the 2021 Volkswagen Tiguan facelift has new look that is more in line with current versions. It has a chrome-accented front grille, LED Matrix headlights, and LED daytime running lights, as well as a redesigned bumper with triangular fog lamps. The car's entire front fascia looks crisper and more attractive.

When you look at the side profile, you'll notice the sporty and beautiful alloy wheels. It also has unique character lines. The car's rear profile features thinner LED taillamps to improve its overall appeal. The 2021 Volkswagen Tiguan facelift will be driven by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged engine with 187 bhp and 320 Nm of peak torque, based on the MQB platform. The engine will be paired with a seven-speed DSG automatic transmission and a 4Motion all-wheel-drive (AWD) system as standard.
