A new strange case came to light from the Hyderabad International Airport on Saturday. Airport officials found 21 kg of gold to transport without documents from Mumbai. Customs officials have recovered 21 kg of gold and diamonds illegally transported to Mumbai from the goods at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) in Shamshabad here.
This was the first major arrest at the RGIA after the air operation was resumed. We all know that air operations have been halted for a few weeks since March due to the lockdown announced by the Central Government on the outbreak of Covid-19. In this case, 21 kg of gold and diamonds are in the form of two kg biscuits, while the rest are 19 kg of jewellery. The price of the jewellery seized is over Rs 9.4 crore.
The investigation reveals that gold and diamonds were first brought from the Middle East to Hyderabad and when they were trying to transport them from the domestic cargo to Mumbai at rgia, the authorities seized it while testing the boxes. Now the authorities are investigating the entire scene and are trying to identify the people behind the incident.
