Lucknow: Voting for the third phase of polling is being held today in the country's largest state UP. A total of 627 candidates are in the fray in 59 assembly seats spread over 16 districts of Bundelkhand and Yadav land in this phase. In UP, an average of 21.18 per cent polling has been recorded till 11 pm in 16 cities under the third phase. The average voter turnout till 9 pm was 8.15%. Lalitpur recorded the highest voter turnout of 26 per cent and the lowest in Kanpur Nagar at 16.79 per cent. Take a look at the district-wise voting...

In Mainpuri, 24.46 per cent polling has been recorded till 11 am. In Firozabad, 24.32 per cent polling has been recorded till 11 am. In Lalitpur, 25.80 per cent polling has been recorded till 11 am. Under the third phase, the overall average voter turnout in 16 cities till 11 pm was 21.18%. Samajwadi Party chief from Karhal and party's candidate Akhilesh Yadav said after voting in Jaswantnagar that the BJP is going to be wiped out. Farmers of Uttar Pradesh will not forgive him. We have scored a century in the first two phases and in this phase also, the Samajwadi Party and the alliance will be ahead of everyone else. Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav and his wife Dimple cast their votes in Saifai.

Rajesh Bhalla, a businessman and social worker from Kanpur, took a unique initiative where he is giving free breakfast to those who come after voting. He said, "Elections are the biggest festivals in the country and today is also a holiday. This holiday we are providing this facility to the voters."
