22 companies came forward for rejuvenation of Doon Railway Station

Dehradun: 22 big companies including Adani, Mahindra & Mahindra, Omaxe have come forward for the rejuvenation of Dehradun railway station. And one of these companies will do the construction work worth Rs 125 crore. That company will have to complete the works related to the development of railway passengers in the coming three years. While the five-star hotel, shopping mall and housing scheme have been fixed for a period of eight years.

Along with the construction of a new railway station on 25 acres of railway land, many constructions works including five-star hotels, shopping malls are to be done under industrial activities. 12.5 acres of this 25 acres of land will be coordinated with the development of passenger facilities. While five-star hotels, shopping malls will be constructed on the remaining land. More than 100 houses will also be constructed on this land under the housing scheme.

The railway land development authority and the Mussoorie-Dehradun Development Authority have been given joint responsibility to bring this scheme of the Railways on the ground. According to the Senior Board of Commerce Manager Rekha Sharma, a prepaid meeting was held to select the companies for the scheme. In which 22 companies including Adani, Mahindra & Mahindra, Omaxe, GMR Group participated. One of these companies will be selected.

According to the draft prepared by the railway, the land will be given to the developer on lease for 99 years for the housing scheme. While RLDA will lease the land for the next 60 years for industrial activities like Five Star Hotel and Shopping Mall.
