Wellington: New Zealand Army has recovered the bodies of six more people killed in a recently torn volcano on White Island, popular among tourists. With this, the number of people killed in this natural accident has increased to 22. The army continued the search with indomitable gallantry and recovered the bodies of six of the eight missing.

Australian Foreign Minister Morris Pyne has said that all six bodies recovered could belong to tourists from his country as Australian tourists visited the island on Monday at the time of the accident. New Zealand Police Commissioner Mae Bush has said, "Our search operation will continue until we find out anything about the last man missing from the island during the disaster."

New Zealand Deputy Commissioner of Police John Timms has said that the body has been brought by helicopter to the Army's HMNZS Wellington vessel and will be brought to the mainland before being sent to Auckland. Second Deputy Commissioner of Police Mike Clement has said that the New Zealand Defense Force conducted search operations in the early hours of Friday equipped with self-defense equipment. Scientists were making them aware of the situation from moment to moment. He said that before embarking on the mission, six bodies were seen through drones.
