Dengue has spread in Odisha due to which at least 225 people being affected, as monsoon is active in the state.

State Health and Family Welfare Minister Atanu Sabyasachi Nayak, reviewed the situation on Monday, and said, “As many as 225 people have tested positive for dengue across the state. Of the affected persons, 13 are undergoing treatment at various hospitals”.

One patient is under treatment at Keonjhar District headquarter hospital, and other 12 people have been admitted at SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack as well as the special arrangements have been made for free test and treatment of the patients.

According to the official sources, "highest number of 67 people have tested positive for dengue in the mineral belt of Keonjhar district but no death due to it has been reported so far".

"Special dengue wards have been opened at Barbil Community Health Centre in Keonjhar district besides at SCB Medical College and Hospital, and health experts from Cuttack, Bhubaneswar and Sambalpur have been rushed to the affected area to treat dengue patients", said Nayak.

According to district medical officer, Keonjhar, S S Bal, the situation is under control.
