23-year-old kabaddi player died in Chandigarh due to the overdose in the village of Burj of Thana Nihal Singh Vala. Police chief Dilbag Singh said that the deceased was addicted to drugs and the possibility is that his death may have happened due to overdose, but the real reason can be found only after the post-mortem report.
Charan Singh son Darshan Singh, on June 27, took 50 rupees from home for the haircut. After returning home in the evening, ate bread and slept. When the family waked him up in the morning, he was in a state of unconsciousness. After this, he was admitted to Chandigarh hospital for treatment in Bathinda. After taken to several other hospitals, he died during his treatment.
According to the spokesperson, Charan was a Kabaddi player and due to the bad accompaniment, he was addicted to drunkenness and drugs. His family had also tried to let him overcome the addiction but it was of no use.
One in every six teenagers has admitted that they take prescription drugs to get high or change the mood. 40 per cent to 60 per cent of people with drug addiction slides back to drug use after the rehab. Most of the drug addicts are aged between 18 to 35 years old.
