New Delhi: Indian Navy Chief Admiral Karambir Singh has said on Tuesday that India has received a Letter of Approval (LoA) for the 24 MH-60R multi-role helicopter from the US. He has said that the deal is expected to be signed soon. He said this a day before Navy Day, that is, while addressing the press people in Delhi on Tuesday.

Admiral Karambir Singh also said that the country's defense budget has been reduced compared to the year 2012-13. There has been a reduction of about five percent in the defense budget in the year 2019-20 compared to the year 2012-13. Let us tell you that on December 4, Navy Day will be celebrated in the whole country. Prior to that, Naval Chief Karambir Singh said this while addressing presspersons in Delhi on Tuesday.

He further said that under the anti-piracy operation, the Indian Navy has arrested 120 pirates, thwarting 44 theft attempts. He said that along with 48 Indian shipyards, the Indian Navy is building 50 ships and submarines. Speaking to reporters, Admiral Karambir Singh said that the Navy plans to induct three aircraft carriers into the fleet. So that two are always in operation.
