Today, at Mulapal chak in Odisha's Jajpur district, Bus carrying the passengers overturned in which at least 24 pilgrims were injured. As per the police, mishmap took place on NH-5 when the bus was on its way to Kashi in Uttar Pradesh from Andhra Pradesh.

Niranjan Dhir, Inspector-in-charge of Kuakhia police station, said, "Our night patrol vehicle noticed the bus lying overturned.The tourists were screaming for help. We rescued the pilgrims with the help of local people and ambulance staff".

Five seriously injured persons were shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack while the others remain admitted to local hospital.

Police seized the bus. But, its driver and helper escape from the spot.
