New Delhi: at the forefront of the anniversary of the destruction of Babri Masjid structure, the Centre has urged all states to stay alert and ensure that there will be peace and no unpleasant incident of communal tension anywhere in the nation.

In an announcement to the states and union territories, the Union home ministry asked them to set up ample of security forces at all sensitive places and uphold extra vigil so that efforts to upset peace could be blocked, a statement through ministry official said today.

As today 25th anniversary of the Babri Masjid structure destruction and it could be great reason lead to demonstrations, protests, and dharna by "both communities", the statement of the ministry said, without pointing directly them.

As a result defensive measures have to be in use and supreme vigil and alertness uphold to ensure tranquility and communal harmony, the home ministry stated in the guidelines issued recently.

The devastation of the Babri Masjid structure on December 6, 1992, in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, was followed by the disturbance in the form of intense riots due to which hundreds of people were killed.

Home ministry officials stated most of the state governments were likely to arrange additional forces in all sensitive places, religious sites, markets, bus terminals and railway stations so that law and order could be sustained.
