26 districts of Uttar Pradesh facing the ballot battle

New Delhi: There are 26 districts of Uttar Pradesh who are facing the ballot battle for the civic body elections on Wednesday. While the first phase took set on November 22, the second phase fulfilled on November 26.

Approximately 48 percent voters had cast their voting right till about 7 am. Security has been made tighter in different parts of the state including the Indo- Nepal border which has been potted to keep away from any unwanted event.

The civic polls, which also take in 76 Nagar Palika Parishads and 152 municipal panchayats, are also seen as a litmus test for saffron Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The CM is at present in Gujarat campaigning for the forthcoming most-talked Gujrat assembly polls in the state.

It is the first time that when all the foremost political parties- Congress, Samajwadi Party, Bahujan Samaj Party are contesting civic body polls on their belonging Party symbols.

Saharanpur, Baghpat, Bulandshahr, Moradabad, Sambhal, Etah, Firozabad, Kannauj, Auraiya, Kanpur Dehat, Jhansi, Mahoba, Fatehpur, Rae Bareli, Sitapur, Lakhimpur Khiri, Barabanki, Balrampur, Siddharthanagar, Maharajganj, Kushinagar, Mau, Chandauli, Jaunpur and Mirzapur
