New Delhi: So far 269 doctors have lost their lives in the second wave of corona. This claim was made by the Indian Medical Association (IMA). IMA has released a state-wise figure of doctors' deaths. However, fewer doctors have lost their lives in the second wave than in the first wave. A total of 748 doctors of the country lost their lives in the first wave of corona.

According to data released by the IMA, Bihar has lost the most number of doctors during the second wave which is a total of 78 doctors died here. This is followed by Uttar Pradesh where 37 doctors died and 28 doctors have lost their lives during the second wave in Delhi. In Andhra Pradesh, 22 doctors have died. Surprisingly, only  Maharashtra being worst hit by corona records only 14 doctors death. Frontline workers are the first to see the benefit of vaccination after vaccination drive begab. Frontline workers included doctors and medical staff, the first of these people were vaccinated due to which the ratio is not so positive but still has less numbers of deaths.

It was during the second wave of corona that Padma Shri Dr. K.K. Aggarwal, President, Heart Care Foundation of India and former President of the Indian Medical Association (IMA) passed away at 11.30 pm on Monday. Dr. K.K. Aggarwal had been fighting corona for the past several days.
