Jammu: On the first Republic Day in New Jammu and Kashmir, the government is giving a gift to the citizens of mobile internet restoration. After the removal of Article 370, the mobile Internet service suspended for more than 5 months has been restored in entire Jammu and Kashmir from Saturday. This facility will be available to both postpaid and prepaid mobile holders. The government has also released the white list of 301 websites, which consumers can use. Earlier, a white list of 153 websites was released. This order has been implemented from last Friday i.e. January 24, on behalf of Home Department Principal Secretary Shaleen Kabra.

On the orders of the Government, 2G internet service on mobile will be restored till 31 January. After review, it will be considered to continue. On January 18, 2G mobile Internet facility was restored in all 10 districts of the Jammu division and two districts of Kashmir division, Kupwara, and Bandipora. The benefit of mobile internet was given only to postpaid mobile subscribers, but the fresh order includes both prepaid and postpaid. To give the benefit of communication services to the people, companies who work in software or IT will be provided with a fixed-line internet service. Companies will be verified to take advantage of the Internet on mobile SIM.
