One of the much anticipated and most awaited films of 2018 is 2.0 is directed by Shankar. Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar starrer 2.0. is a sequel to 2010 blockbuster Robot. It is made on a budget of $75 million, which is approximately Rs 543 crore. Created on such a big scale and budget, 2.0 is the costliest film to hit the silver screen of India. The movie has surpassed the money spent in the making of the two Baahubali films.
As It is obvious that recovering such a big budget can be an uphill task for most but the film makers of 2.0 have already recovered a whopping amount of Rs 490 crore even before the release of 2.0.
Worth mention here a couple of days back, trade analyst, Ramesh Bala had tweeted that the Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar starrer has already raked up Rs 120 crore from its advance booking. He had wrote , "#2Point0 TN Pre-release Theaterical total advance is valued the highest in Tamil Cinema.. Nearly ₹ 120 Crs..A First in Tamil Cinema to cross ₹ 100 Crs”.
And This time another report in Bollywood Hungama suggested that the makers have also recovered an astounding Rs 370 crore pre-release. Here Check it out how this amount came:
Satellite Rights: Rs 120 crore (All Versions)
Digital Rights: Rs 60 crore (All Versions)
North Belt Rights: Rs 80 crore (Advance Basis)
Andhra Pradesh/Telangana Rights: Rs 70 crore
Karnataka Rights: Rs 25 crore
Kerala Rights: Rs 15 crore
Total: Rs 370 crore
We wish the film won’t be depressing the audience.
Hence, adding its income of Rs 370 crore after selling a number of rights and Rs 120 crore from its solid advances, 2.0 has already earned Rs 490 crore.
