Bhopal: Crime cases are on the rise in Madhya Pradesh these days. Now, in the recent case that has come to light, three accused caught along with a pangolin have been sent to jail. All the accused are said to be residents of Sivani and it is feared that the rare wild animal could have been sold by altogether. In the entire case, it has been reported that the State Tiger Strike Force has been able to take possession of one pangolin by arresting three accused in a joint operation by Jabalpur and North Sivani Forest Division.

On the whole issue, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (Wildlife) Alok Kumar says, "On the information of the informer, the rarest wild animal pangolin was found alive in the possession of three persons riding motorcycles. The three accused are residents of the Sivani district. Forest offenses have been registered under various sections of the Wildlife (Protection) Act, 1972 and produced before the court in Lucknow, and sent to jail. Motorcycle mobiles used in the crime have also been seized.''

In this case, the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests has appealed to the general public to cooperate in preventing the damage of wild pangolins by informing the nearest forest officer or police on receipt of information about such criminal acts. This is not the first such case, but such shocking cases have come to light before.
