Patna: A tractor carrying illegal sand overturned uncontrollably near Gulli Tand village on SH-69 of Paliganj divisional headquarters police station area of Bihar's capital Patna on Thursday morning. Three labourers died on the spot in the accident. The three deceased labourers were residents of Ankuri village in Paliganj divisional headquarters police station area and used to feed the family by paying wages.

According to the information received, the trio was still going on a tractor to unload sand as usual. In the meantime, the accident occurred. Police rushed to the spot after receiving information about the incident and seized the tractor as well as arrested the driver. Police are investigating the case by seizing the bodies. According to locals, the business of digging and transporting illegal sand from the Sone river in the area is at its peak. It is alleged that this work is being done under the protection of the police. As a result, three people lost their lives today. Police who reached the spot wanted to send the body to Patna AIIMS for postmortem.

The villagers were furious and demanded a post mortem at Paliganj Divisional Hospital itself. The postmortem of the deceased from Darsal, earlier divisional area was conducted at the divisional hospital itself. But the bodies have been sent to Patna AIIMS for postmortem for a few days. Because of this, the people of the area face a lot of difficulties.
