Bhopal: The Madhya Pradesh Police has arrested three members of the banned radical outfit Popular Front of India (PFI) on charges of conspiring against the government and indulging in unlawful activities. Along with this, the police have detained 4 members of the banned organization for questioning in the last few days.
In the latest action, two members of the radical outfit PFI were arrested from Madhya Pradesh capital Bhopal on Saturday (February 4), while the third was arrested in connection with a case registered by the Special Task Force of MP Police last year after being brought on a production warrant from Aurangabad (Maharashtra). The three accused have been identified as Ghulam Rasool Shah (37), Sajid Khan alias Ghulam Nabi (56), a resident of Indore and Parvez Khan (30), a resident of Aurangabad in Dhar district, a police official said.
The accused have been booked under IPC sections 121A (conspiring to wage war against the government), 153B (attempt to outrage national integration), and 120B (criminal conspiracy) besides provisions of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, the official said. Of these, Parvez Khan was lodged in a jail in Aurangabad and was brought to Bhopal on a production warrant on Saturday, he said. PFI is working on the agenda of making India an Islamic nation, for which it is radicalizing the Muslims of the country by provoking them against the government and people of other religions. For this reason, the central government banned PFI last year.
