In Jammu and Kashmir, three unidentified terrorists were killed and one security personnel injured in an encounter incident in the Shopian district on Thursday. A police official said, security forces cordoned off the areas and launched a search operation after receiving information about the presence of terrorists in Baba Mohalla. He said, meanwhile, militants have started firing on security forces, which was retaliated by the security forces and an encounter broke out.
The official said one security personnel was injured in the firing. According to the official, 3 terrorists were killed in the operation by the security forces. The identity of the slain terrorists and their outfits is being ascertained.
Media quoted Kashmir Zone police as saying that security forces have cordoned off the top commander of Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind in the midst of the encounter and the operation is still going on.
