Nairobi: Three tourists were killed and one was reported missing when a boat carrying tourists capsized on Saturday in southeast Kenya, according to police. There were about 20 people saved.

Unknown at the time of the capsizing was the cause. The boat capsized at the Watamu Marine National Park and Reserve, a popular tourist destination along the coast north of Mombasa, carrying 29 people, 15 of whom were foreigners.

According to Solomon Odero, the deputy police commander for Malindi sub-county, 25 people were saved, some of whom were taken to the hospital and are now in stable condition. He disproved the theory that the boat was overloaded.

The foreigners involved's nationalities weren't immediately made public.
