3 Rafale jets to arrive in India from France today, refueling in sky

New Delhi: Indian Air Force is going to increase its strength. The new consignment of Rafale fighter Jets is reaching India today. According to reports, the three Rafale fighter jets will land at Ambala airbase this evening. The three fighter jets will set a distance of about 7,000 km from France to India without stopping. Air to air refueling will be done in all three aircraft in the UAE skies, i.e., the aircraft will be refueled in the sky during the flight. India has been handed over 21 Rafale so far out of while 11 have arrived in India.

All of them are part of the Air Force's Golden Arrow Squadron in Ambala, the three Rafale aircraft that will come to India today will also be included in the Golden Arrow Squadron. A new consignment of these fighter jets will arrive at the end of April next month. The April tranche will have 5 Rafale fighter jets instead of three. The new aircraft will be deployed at Hasimara airbase in West Bengal. The eastern border with China can be easily used from the Hashimara base if it is monitored or required.

The first consignment of the Rafale fighter jet came to India from France on July 29 last year. India signed an inter-governmental agreement in 2015 to purchase 36 fighter jets worth Rs 59,000 crore from France. The Rafale fighter jet was formally inducted into the Air Force fleet at an event in Ambala on September 10 last year. The second consignment of three aircraft arrived in India on November 3, while the third consignment of three aircraft arrived here on January 27.
