Etawah: Amidst the outbreak of the global pandemic coronavirus, reports of 30 prisoners imprisoned in the Etawah District Jail in Uttar Pradesh have been reported to be corona positive. The infected prisoners are being treated in a separate barrack inside the jail itself. Giving information, the CMO has said that due to the panchayat elections, an additional police force was absent there, due to which the prisoners could not come for treatment outside the jail.
The problem of the district administration has increased after the prisoners in Etawah District Jail were found to be corona infected. corona report of 30 inmates in jail has come positive. At this time 1700 prisoners are closed in the district jail. While the jail has a capacity of just 700 inmates. The danger of an outbreak has increased further as prisoners are over capacity.
Giving information, CMO NS Tomar has told that due to lack of additional police force due to panchayat elections, inmates found positive in jail are undergoing treatment. The infected prisoners are kept in separate barracks in the jail itself. The Health Department's team is constantly monitoring the prisoners.
