Jaipur: The wounds of the attack on a Rally of Hindus by a radical Muslim mob in Karauli on the occasion of Hindu New Year in Rajasthan were yet to dry up that the demolition of two ancient Hindu temples in Alwar has again hurt the faith of the Hindu community. A 'aakrosh rally' was taken out by the BJP and the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) on Wednesday (April 27, 2022)  against it.

The rally was attended by several sadhus and saints including BJP MP from Alwar, Balaknath. The protesters marched towards the collectorate shouting 'Jai Shri Ram' slogans. Meanwhile, police put up barricades to stop them. Locals alleged that in the name of the action to remove the encroachments, the authorities did not give time till the idols installed in the temple were removed. According to media reports, pieces of idols of gods and goddesses were lying all around at the spot. Accusing the Gehlot government of appeasement, MP Balak Nath said, "We are taking out this march to stop the Rajasthan government from indulging in appeasement. In our memorandum, we have demanded strict action against the authorities concerned, construction of the demolished temple.

The BJP leader has also demanded chief minister Ashok Gehlot's resignation. Let us know that in the past, a drive was launched by the Alwar district administration in Rajgarh to remove the encroachments, in which the administration had demolished the 300-year-old Shiva temple by declaring it illegal. Rajgarh Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Keshav Kumar Meena, Rajgarh MunicipalIty Board chief Satish Duharia and local municipal executive officer (EO) Banwari Lal Meena were suspended with immediate effect in the case.
