33 out of 166 pax suffer nose, ear bleeds, headache after Jet Airways AC malfunctioned

With a major Around 30 passengers on a Jet Airways -- a Boeing 737  Mumbai-Jaipur flight suffered ear and nose bleeds owing to low cabin pressure during the flight's climb, as the leading news agency ANI reported.

 The flight immediately turned back and landed in Mumbai where the affected passengers, some of whom also complained of headaches, were offloaded and were treated by doctors at the airport.

The flight -- a 9w697 service departs from Mumbai at around 6am every day. It was carrying 166 passengers and five crew members.

During the climb, the Jet Airways crew forgot to activate the "bleed switch", following this, the air pressure in the cabin went down and oxygen masks got deployed.

According to  ANI The flight will take off from Mumbai for Jaipur at 10.15 am.

Jet Airways authority confirmed the incident in a statement saying that pilots have been  suspended  following a pending investigation.

"[The flight] made an air turn back due to loss in cabin pressure... [and] landed normally in Mumbai," a Jet Airways spokesperson was quoted by India today.

"All guests were deplaned safely and taken to the terminal. First aid was administered to few guests who complained of ear pain, bleeding nose etc," the spokesperson also added.

Here video shot inside the cabin showed passengers sitting with the masks on.
