Ahmedabad: The special court has given a big decision in the Ahmedabad Cerium bomb blast case. The court has sentenced 38 out of 49 convicts to death. Along with this, the court has sentenced 11 other convicts to life imprisonment. The court had already convicted these people and today they were to be sentenced. The 21 serial blasts that took place in Ahmedabad on 26 July 2008 shook the whole country.
Public prosecutor Amit Patel told that Special Judge AR Patel has sentenced 38 out of 49 convicts to death. At the same time, 11 other convicts have been given life imprisonment. Let us tell you that the terrorist organization Indian Mujahideen had taken responsibility for this attack. The terrorists said that we did this attack to avenge the 2002 Gujarat riots. A total of 77 people were made accused in this case, out of which 28 were acquitted by the court and the remaining 49 were found guilty. The court has given this decision after the case which lasted for 12 years.
Let us tell you that the prosecution had demanded from the court to give capital punishment to all the culprits. At the same time, the defense appealed to the court to give the minimum punishment. However, the court sentenced 38 people to death. This decision can be challenged in the High Court. In the Ahmedabad blasts case, Judge AR Patel of the Sessions Court, while delivering the verdict on February 8, convicted 49 accused. At the same time, the court had acquitted 28 out of 77 accused. Let us tell you that in the year 2008, 56 people were killed in serial bomb blasts in Ahmedabad, along with 200 people were injured.
