Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Police is constantly engaged in cracking down on criminals. In this episode, in Azamgarh district, the police have arrested 4 accused including notorious cow smuggler Amir. The police have recovered banned meat, pistol, cartridges and two bikes from them. This incident is of Saraimer police station area of the district. According to the report, the police team of Saraimir police station went out for patrolling on the night of Wednesday (25 May 2022) after inputs about the presence of cow smugglers.
During this, as soon as the police team reached Pura village of Ramrai, it saw two suspicious bikes there. When the policemen stopped the bike riders, they opened fire on the police. The police also retaliated. During this one person got injured. While three others were also arrested. After the arrest, it was found that the person who got shot was none other than the notorious cow smuggler Amir. The three other accused arrested with Amir have been identified as Javed Akhtar, Mashroof Ahmed and Mohammad Abdullah. At present, the police has admitted Aamir to the district hospital for treatment in the injured condition. At the same time, during this encounter, another accused took advantage of the darkness and fled from the spot.
The police have recovered 140 kg of banned meat, two pistols and two bikes from the possession of the accused. This incident has been confirmed by District Superintendent of Police Anurag Arya. He said that the police had acted on the basis of intelligence inputs. There were frequent complaints about cow smuggling in the area. At present, a case has been registered against all the accused under relevant sections. Now all these will be produced in the court. After that everyone will be sent to jail.
