4 Dead, Several Injured after Balloon Gas Cylinder Explodes in MP

Chhindwara: Two people have been killed and three others injured when a gas cylinder exploded in Chhindwara in Madhya Pradesh. The incident is said to be near the Chhota pond in the city where a fair was held on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan. The injured persons have been admitted to the hospital. According to reports, there is panic in the area due to the bursting of cylinders. Talking about the case, ASP Sanjeev Uikey said that Sheikh Ibrahim (70) residents had come to the fair to sell balloons from the power colony.

He was filling the balloons with gas. He further said, the cylinder suddenly exploded and Sheikh Ibrahim died on the spot in the accident. Three persons from the same family passing by were injured. Meanwhile, Tajuddin Ansari (40) resident railway colony died on the way to the hospital. Ruba Parveen and son Vismil Misbah ul Ansari (9) and other Suresh Yadav (35) were injured. The trio is said to be in critical condition and has been admitted to the district hospital. Eyewitnesses say the explosion was so powerful that the whole area was shaken by the sound.

According to reports, about 20 to 25 feet of cylinder pieces and other belongings were scattered after the blast. As soon as the information was received, the police reached and sent the injured to the district hospital. Collector Saurabh Suman, ASP Sanjeev Uikey, SDM Atul Singh also rushed to the spot and an inquiry has now been initiated in the blast area.
