Four jawans were killed in The Nagaland ambush, which is suspected to be done by NSCN terrorists.

The jawans were from the 40th Assam Rifles.

They were martyred on 17th of June in the afternoon where six were injured in an ambush at Aboi in Mon district of Nagaland near Indo-Myanmar border.

By the defence sources, it was confirmed that two men died and six were injured at a very crucial state. The injured jawans were given aid from the Indian army in Jorhat in Assam, where they were airlifted by the force's aircraft for proper medical aid.

The superintendent of police of mon district said “There are reports of an encounter that took place around 2.30pm. The Khaplang faction is suspected to be behind the attack on Assam Rifles.”

 This incident happened when the jawans were collecting water from a river between Aboi-Muhung. Gunfighting started when everyone took their place including the Nagaland police.


Earlier also in 2015, eight jawans of the 23rd Assam Rifles were killed and six others injured in an ambush by NSCN  militants in Mon district of Nagaland near Changlangsu. This is the second time when such a misfortunate thing happened.

Further detail in the matter are awaited and investigation is on the go.
