Lucknow: Four members of the same family, including two children, were killed when a speeding train hit them at a crossing in Ayodhya, UP. The four were on their way to cross the railway track at Dugarpur-Rampurwa, an unmanned railway crossing of Maharajganj police station on Saturday.
Police said, the accident took place at the crossing between Bilharighat Ulnabhari railway stations on Lucknow-Varanasi main line. The deceased have been identified as 38-year-old Ramchandra Nishad, his wife Vimla (34), their 2 children Vimal, 4 Ganesh, 2, all from nearby Rampur Purwari village.
Senior Ayodhya Superintendent of Police Shailesh Pandey has said that the bodies have been removed from the tracks. There is a railway crossing near Durgapur village where Ramchandra Nishad along with his family was trying to cross railway tracks on bikes. Suddenly, the train overtook the family of four.
