WASHINGTON: Amidst the growing havoc with the Coronavirus epidemic infection, the number of infected people has crossed the four million mark. So far, 40,38,663 people have been infected with the disease in 187 countries and regions around the world and 2,78,631 people have lost their lives. Coronavirus infection is spreading very fast in India and the number of patients has crossed 60 thousand.

WHO warns, 'economic activities can worsen situation'

India ranks 14th among the countries of the world with more than 60 thousand cases of infection. According to the latest data released by the Union Health and Family Welfare Ministry on Sunday morning, 62,939 people have been infected and 2109 people have died due to this virus in 32 states and union territories of the country. So far 19,358 people in the country have been completely healthy from its infection.

According to the data released by the Center for Science and Engineering (CSSE) of America's John Hopkins University, Coronavirus in America has the highest number of people infected in the world with more than 1.3 million infections. According to the data received so far, the number of infections has crossed two lakhs in three countries and one lakh in six countries, while in five countries including India this number has crossed 50 thousand.
