Lucknow: Before the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council (MLC) elections, leaders are looking for a safe harbor. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is projected to be the first pick of leaders since they will benefit politically from being in power. In a similar vein, four members of the Samajwadi Party's Legislative Council have joined the BJP. This is seen as a huge defeat for the SP in the run-up to the 2022 assembly elections.

SP MLC four times On Wednesday, Ravi Shankar Singh Pappu, CP Chand, Rama Niranjan, and Narendra Bhati all joined the BJP. By the body segments, four politicians who left the SP and joined the BJP are MLCs. The BJP is thought to be giving tickets to the four MLC assembly members since they are all veterans and regarded as stalwarts in their respective regions.

The BJP has also been suppressed by MLC Ravi Shankar Singh called Pappu, who is the grandson of former Prime Minister Chandrashekhar. Neeraj Shekhar, Chandrashekhar's son, has already quit the SP and joined the saffron party, becoming a Rajya Sabha member.
