4-storey building collapse in Chennai, one killed, 23 injured

A four-storey building under the building collapsed in Kandanchavadi in Chennai, when a person died and 23 people were injured. Work of rescue and relief continues, with the help of local people, SDRF, NDRF and police help is being taken. The injured have been admitted to the hospital for treatment. Like Noida's Shahberi accident, this incident happened in Kandanchavadi. 

Disaster Management Commissioner Rajendra Ratanu said that the buildings surrounding it were also affected due to the collapse of the four-storey building. For the relief and rescue work, 30 personnel of SDRF, two units of NDRF and eight ambulances have been deployed.
 
"1 person is dead 5 people have head injuries & 2 are in a critical condition out of 17 people who got injured 23 people have been rescued Rescue operations will continue: P.Ponniah, district collector on building collapse in Chennai's Kandanchavadi area." ANI tweeted.

10 officers including Chennai District Collector also reached the spot. At the same time, the Chief Minister's Office has asked the State Disaster Management Team to monitor the condition. Now the work to remove debris and take out people is continuing. So far, the reason for the collapse of the building could not be ascertained. 

In the night of July 17, in Greater Noida Shahberi, two buildings collapsed, in which nine people died. After this, the administration has registered a case against 24 people and four people have been arrested.
