Users of Naxal affected areas are using 400 GB of data every day which is the highest level of internet data consumption in these areas. This information is given by telecom companies BSNL and VNL. 

The project was approved in 2014. Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has said this achievement is the result of the government's strategy to build a strong mobile communication network center in the Naxal-hit areas. In fact, the Union Cabinet had sanctioned for the installation of mobile towers in June 2013 in the Naxal affected areas of nine states of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Odisha and Uttar Pradesh. Then this project was sent to the cabinet again due to increased cost and it got approval in August 2014.

Growth through increasing use of data in 2016, these nine Naxal-affected states saw tremendous growth in data consumption under mobile coverage. In this area, public telecom company Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited is the only service provider. BSNL says that due to reaching the highest level of Internet data in these areas, there is also positive effect on the development of the area. 

BSNL says that in less than 18 months of the government's decision, it has created a network in collaboration with VNL (Telecom Gear-Making Company, Vihen Network Ltd). Now the daily data consumption in these areas is increasing. Using data, the people of Naxal-affected areas are joining the mainstream. Taking advantage of government services In these areas, two companies have installed more than 2,000 solar power towers.
