Lucknow: Dengue continues to wreak havoc in Firozabad in Uttar Pradesh. About 53 people have lost their lives and 186 are admitted to the hospital in 10 days due to this fever. This includes about 45 children. There is an atmosphere of panic among the people. CM Yogi Adityanath has instituted an inquiry into the matter and the district administration has closed schools from class I to VIII for a week due to the death on such a large scale in the covid ward of Firozabad Medical College.

Similarly, four persons succumbed to their injuries in Tapri Kala village of Saharanpur within a day on Saturday. More than 100 people are currently undergoing treatment here. More than 60 people are suffering from this unknown fever in the 3 villages of Farah block of Mathura. In Uttar Pradesh, the district administration has ordered the closure of all schools from class I to VIII by September 6 in view of the growing dengue menace in the Firozabad district. The move comes late in the night after CM Yogi Adityanath's visit to Firozabad on Monday.

DM Chandra Vijay Singh has issued a letter to the Basic Education Officer and district school inspector directing them to close all schools till September 6 for class VIII. DM Chandra Vijay Singh said that the order will be applicable to all government private schools as well as all institutions doing teaching work. If this order is disobeyed by anyone, penal and legal action will be taken against them.
