Ranchi: Jharkhand Director General of Police Neeraj Sinha on Wednesday announced that the dependents of two police personnel who lost their lives in maoist attack in West Singhbhum district will be given financial assistance of Rs 45 lakh each and a family member will be given a government job. Terming the killing of two soldiers as tragic, he said that the culprits will not be released.

Let me tell you that two police personnel guarding former BJP MLA Gurucharan Naik were killed in an attack by maoists on Tuesday evening. One security personnel was injured. However, former MLA narrowly escaped. Three AK-47 rifles of Maoist security personnel were also looted. Sinha paid homage to the two security personnel at the police line here.

Talking to reporters, Sinha said that earlier also a drive was being launched against naxalites in the district which will be intensified. DGP said, naxalites are baffled but have no choice but to surrender. At the same time, they have announced an inquiry into the entire matter. Former BJP MLA Gurucharan Naik narrowly escaped from Manoharpur in a Maoist attack in West Singhbhum district of Jharkhand on Tuesday. But the Maoists slit the throats of two of their police security personnel and snatched three AK-47 rifles. The Maoists fled after the attack.
